Friday Aug 3rd.

Wow! What a crazy week it's been. I did get a few things done this week but I have no clue how I did that! LOL
I made this card for a friend who needed an Anniversary card.

We used the artwork that their grand-daughter drew and colored. Then put their Anniversary party information and their picture on the inside of the card.

This is a 2page 12x12 that I finally got done. It is of my son's 4th grade class. Instead of doing a layout for every Xmas party, field trip and class picture, I just do a 2page 12x12 layout of the whole year.

I put his big 8x10 picture hiding under the big class picture. I used all Paper Loft paper. I just LOVE that paper!

Hoping my CTMH stuff will be here soon!! Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be back Monday!

NEW CATALOG!

It's here it's here!! I'm so excited! The new Fall/Winter CTMH book just came to my house today! I won't get my customer's book's till Friday, but I got my freebie today in the mail.
I have been so busy today that I have not even had a chance to look through it yet! I skimmed a bit though. Just want to wait till I can devote more time to it!

I will be placing an order soon for some new stuff and posting what I got and what I make. The posting will be slowing down a bit as my kids have me very very busy this week and next. End of summer......
Also wanted to share with you a couple pictures of what we have been up to.

Here is a picture of my daughter jumping on a trampoline with her friend. And my son, diving head first into the water. Boy, he really has the form down doesn't he? LOL

Him going under water is a huge thing!! I am so proud of him for that. He loves it now, as long as he has the goggles on! lol
Enjoy your week.

Hey hey hey!!!

I am in one crazy mood! The ambien is kicking in people!! LOL
I have had NO time today to do much of anything, I did get my own butt wh- Oh wait...too much info@@!!! LOL
Ok, Today I am doing a quicky Make it Monday on Vellum. You know, that adorable see through paper that looks so pretty on wedding invitation's and such. ( I can see already I"ll be needing to do a spell check on this post!)
I made two cards using vellum. The hardest thing with most ppl and vellum is how to attach it. I have used vellum for years! And the best way's that I can come up with are:
1. staple it to project.
2. attach with a brad or eyelet
3. Use a special vellum adhesive. Now these can get expensive and they don't always work well. You'll just have to do some research and decide what you like the best.
4. You can also hide your tape marks on your vellum like I did on the first card.

I put my vellum under this chipboard frame, so I can have the vellum attached to the card using my tape runner, and the frame hides it. I also stamped my image on the vellum, turned the stamped image over and used my chalks to color on the back of the vellum. Gives it a nice soft look.
On this card, it is very basic, stamped, stapled, done!

There are many other way's to use vellum. Some of my favorites are:
1. print journaling out on the computer on vellum. This give such a nice, clean, elegant look.
2. Heat emboss on vellum and then color the image on the back. That really makes the chalk pop!
3. And of course just stamping on it! Now they have preprinted vellum you can use just as an overlay.
Vellum is endless and really gives your cards/projects an element of class. Enjoy!!

Monday 30th.

Two Peas Blog challenge:
List three things that you are really good at.

1. Crafting. I would say I am good at it. Not all things I make are magazine worthy, but I like them.

2. Decorating. This is something that I really enjoy doing. Throwing a room together.

3. Being a wife and mother.

Ill be back later tonight with my Make it Monday.

Friday, 27th

My friend came over a few weeks back needing help making the memory board she bought for her daughter. We found this at a scrapbook shop for only 23.99. It was completly unfinished wood with a square tin in the middle to display whatever on magnets. She wanted to use the Rusty Pickle Girlfriends line. I think it turned out so cute!!

Friday blogger challenge question on twopeas:
If you could only eat 3 things for the rest of your life, what would they be?
1. Candy, I could not live without it. A variety.
2. Cold sandwhiches, like turkey and cheese..i love them very much.
3. The boiled chicken salad that I make. Only the one that I make. I could eat them every day for lunch and dinner.

Challenges

I've been doing the Scraplift Challenges at Twopeas lately. I like those, because you get to "lift" or copy another person's work, and make it your own. Basically, you take an idea of theirs and turn it into your own work.
This is a layout that I did last week. I lifted a talented artist with the domain name of bacarson.
I lifted this layout she did of her cute daugher:

This is my version of it. I had this silly photo of Claire and knew it would go perfect.

The journaling says:

Inhibition?
I dont think you know the meaning of the word. Well, I know you dont, you're only 6. But still. I always describe you as a "free spirit". Where the hell did you get your personality anyway? I know it's not from your quiete father or reserved mother. Your brother puts us both to shame in the game of self control.
But you.....you my dear are an individual all your own. I"m so proud of that. Even when you're struting around in a bikini at the age of 6 showing off "your buisness". One day, you'll be the death of me. But today, I laughed and laughed at your goofy smile and tummy sticking out and it felt good.

Make it Monday,....or Tuesday!

Well, I fouled up and didnt get my Make it Monday done. So I will save it for next week.
So this week I am going to do the sketch challenge on Beate's Blog. You can find all the information about it on her blog...just click on Fresh N Fun over to the right!
This was her sketch challenge this week.

And this is what my card looks like that I did with the sketch....

Gotta love the pink and black! I used felt underneath the circle. Enjoy your week, I'll be back later with more artwork I am working on. Let's see what you have done with the sketch this week!
Two peas blog challenge: Do you stamp on your layouts?
Are you kidding? That is how I started off scrapbooking! I had no idea that you could buy paper already decorated! (patterend paper!) I thought I had to make it all!! In other words, yes, I DO stamp on my scrapbook pages! But not as often as I used to.
